We get this question a lot! We know that you are the expert on your child and family so, if something has changed, you are noticing new behaviours/patterns, or something just seems to be getting in the way of your child reaching their full potential, we are here to talk it through with you and aid you in deciding whether coming in for services would be helpful. Please feel free to reach out and ask our team at any time.
We totally understand how overwhelming it can be to decide what services would meet your needs. We suggest coming in for an initial consultation. During that appointment, we are able to learn about your child and your family and what goals you have for our work together. From there, our staff are able to make specialized recommendations for services.
No, your child does not need to have a formal diagnosis in order to access services with Tessellate Child and Family Therapy.
We do not offer emergency or crisis services at this time. If you or your child are experiencing a crisis, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Before you come in for your initial session, you will receive a intake form to fill out that gives us a little bit of background information about your child and family and what is bringing you for services. At your first session, you will meet with our lead therapist (Heddy Swigger) either virtually or in person. During this session, Heddy will expand on that initial intake form in order to provide the most informed recommendations for next steps. Heddy will also be sure to answer any questions you might have about Tessellate Child and Family Therapy and the therapeutic process.
Each child, parent/caregiver, and family is unique and requires a different treatment plan. During your initial intake, we will do our best to provide you with an estimate for the length of services. With that said, it is an estimate and the true length of service depends on a number of factors. Our team is very open with parents throughout the process and will be sure to continue to work with you and your family to decide what length of service makes sense for you.
We do not do direct billing for services to insurance companies. However, we do provide you with a receipt that contains all of the information you would need to submit to an insurance company for reimbursement.
We accept cash, debit, and all major credit cards for payment.
To avoid being charged for the session, we ask that families give us 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. However, we understand that emergencies and illness, particularly now, do come up suddenly. If you need to cancel due to an emergency or any COVID-19 related symptoms, we are happy to waive the late cancellation fee. During your initial intake appointment, we will be sure to go over this in more detail.
Our therapists are excited to meet you, your child, and your family and get started in reaching your goals today!
